Senior Assistant Manager

NHG is seeking a motivated Senior Assistant Manager to support financial planning, analysis, and implementation of healthcare financing initiatives, including bundled payment models and pilot programmes. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Group Finance, this role contributes meaningfully to financial strategy by delivering rigorous analysis, maintaining financial models, and supporting cross-functional teams with data-driven insights. The ideal candidate combines solid technical finance expertise with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning, Modelling & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess the viability and performance of healthcare financing initiatives, including bundled payment arrangements and pilot programmes.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and prepare recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform variance analysis between actual and projected funding, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to measure programme success.

2. Data Management, Reporting & Strategic Insights

  • Manage large datasets and develop automated reporting systems and data visualisations using Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms to support timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support financial review and oversight for assigned initiatives, working with stakeholders to develop sound financial projections.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and performance insights for management and key stakeholders.
  • Agentic AI skills would be an added advantage. Support business performance and operational excellence by leveraging data analytics, business insights and Agentic AI capabilities to proactively monitor trends, identify variances, surface risks/opportunities and recommend areas for improvement.

3. Programme Implementation & Project Support

  • Support the implementation of healthcare financing initiatives by managing project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and monitoring progress to ensure on-track delivery.
  • Coordinate across workstreams, manage interdependencies, and escalate risks where necessary.
  • Provide guidance and training to institution users to facilitate adoption of bundled payment models.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a finance point of contact for pilot programme and institution stakeholders, supporting alignment of financial goals with programme objectives.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate changes, and support alignment on financing objectives.
  • Present complex financial information clearly and confidently to diverse audiences.

5. Process Improvement & Strategic Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes related to programme tracking, reporting, and evaluation, and support implementation of improvements.
  • Support the scaling of successful pilot programmes by assessing financial feasibility.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, healthcare finance, or a related domain.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and managing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with alternative payment models such as bundled payments is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting pilot programmes, new business initiatives, or innovation projects is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial modelling and data analysis skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial software.
  • Proficiency in Excel (including Macros) and Power BI or other data visualisation tools.

  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage tasks and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into accessible insights for diverse audiences.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy.
