The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and patient-centred Senior Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care, support medication management and contribute to the continuous advancement of pharmacy services across the organisation.

You will work closely with doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to optimise medication therapy and improve patient outcomes while supporting operational excellence and professional development within the pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Safe and High-Quality Patient Care

• Conduct comprehensive clinical reviews of medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Identify and resolve potential medication-related issues, including dosing concerns, drug interactions and adverse drug reactions, in collaboration with prescribing clinicians.
• Provide medication counselling and education to patients and caregivers to promote safe and effective medication use.
• Deliver accurate and timely dispensing services while maintaining high standards of patient safety and service excellence.

Be a Trusted Clinical Advisor

• Provide evidence-based drug information and clinical recommendations to healthcare professionals across multidisciplinary teams.
• Actively contribute to clinical discussions, committees and patient care initiatives to optimise medication management and patient outcomes.
• Support medication safety efforts through the identification, review and resolution of medication-related risks and incidents.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Ensure efficient pharmacy operations and achievement of established service turnaround times.
• Maintain compliance with all legal, regulatory and institutional requirements governing the procurement, storage, distribution and supply of medicinal products.
• Ensure accurate documentation and record management across all pharmacy operations.
• Support the recovery and accountability of medication-related costs and revenue in accordance with organisational requirements.

Lead, Develop and Inspire Others

• Provide supervision, coaching and guidance to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and contribute to the development of talent through constructive feedback, training and career development recommendations.
• Support the learning and development of pre-registration pharmacists, pharmacy students and other healthcare professionals through structured training and mentorship.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and professional excellence within the department.

Champion Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Review and enhance pharmacy policies, procedures and workflows to improve patient care, medication safety and operational efficiency.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, institutional projects and national workgroups that advance pharmacy practice and healthcare delivery.
• Keep abreast of emerging clinical evidence, industry developments and best practices through continuous professional development.
• Drive the implementation and adherence of departmental, organisational and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines.

Contribute to the Wider Hospital Community

• Represent the pharmacy department in institutional committees, projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Support staff engagement, community outreach, quality improvement and organisational development activities that contribute to the hospital's mission and values.
• Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as assigned in support of departmental and organisational priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) or equivalent qualification recognised by the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• Registered Pharmacist with a valid Practising Certificate.
• Relevant experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy practice.
• Strong clinical knowledge, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience will be advantageous.
