Senior Manager, Operations (Medicine)

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Manager to join Operations (Medicine), supporting selected Clinical Department(s) within the Division of Medicine in an acute tertiary hospital.

 

In this role, you will work closely with the Director, Operations, Clinical Heads of Department (HODs) and senior stakeholders to plan, develop and implement clinical services and care models across Medicine disciplines. You will translate clinical intent and service plans into well‑designed, practical and sustainable operational solutions, working in close collaboration with Service Operations and MEC Operations teams to ensure readiness and smooth integration into ongoing services.

 

You will play an important role in driving service development and access improvement efforts, redesigning patient journeys and operational workflows to meet service needs, organisational targets and NHG priority areas. This role requires active leadership and ownership, from planning and coordination through implementation, review and refinement.

As a Senior Manager, you will lead cross‑disciplinary initiatives, apply data and operational insights to support planning and performance review, and provide clear reports and updates to department, division, organisation and cluster‑level stakeholders on progress, risks and outcomes.

 

You will also be responsible for supervising, coaching and developing the Ops Med team, building capability in clinical operations support, analytics and stakeholder management. The role involves regular engagement with clinicians, Service Operations, MEC Operations, corporate services and external stakeholders, offering meaningful exposure to service development and improvement work across multiple Medicine specialties.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  2. At least 10–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare operations, clinical services development or hospital administration, including people management responsibilities.
  3. Experience working with senior clinicians or professional leaders to plan and implement clinical services or programmes in a tertiary care setting is an advantage.
  4. Strong leadership and execution skills, with ability to drive initiatives from planning through implementation.
  5. Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience using data to support operational planning and performance monitoring.
  6. Experience in supervising, coaching and developing team members.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate‑level Excel skills (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis).
  8. Good written, communication and presentation skills (English).
