Why This Role Matters

We are looking for a Workplace Safety & Fire Safety Manager to strengthen and elevate our campus-wide safety culture.

You will play a key role in shaping workplace safety and fire safety strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, driving risk prevention initiatives and embedding a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Strengthen Workplace Safety Governance

• Lead and sustain a robust Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) framework across the campus.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, licences and safety standards.
• Partner stakeholders to address licensing, compliance and incident-related matters in a timely and effective manner.
• Oversee safety compliance relating to hazardous substances, workplace safety management and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Drive Safety Excellence

• Develop and continuously improve WSH management systems, processes and quality assurance frameworks.
• Lead initiatives relating to hazard identification, risk assessments, safety inspections, audits and incident management.
• Analyse safety trends and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend practical interventions.

Champion Fire Safety Readiness

• Partner closely with the Senior Fire Safety Manager to maintain a robust Fire Safety Programme.
• Support fire safety inspections, audits, emergency preparedness exercises and fire drills.
• Promote awareness and preparedness across the organisation through training and engagement initiatives.

Lead Safety Committees and Governance Forums

• Serve as Secretariat and Chief Coordinator for the Workplace and Fire Safety Committee under the Total Workplace Safety & Health Council.
• Facilitate discussions, track safety performance and present updates to senior management.
• Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen organisational safety performance.

Enable Safe Operations and Projects

• Work closely with Facilities Management and contractors to ensure compliance with hospital safety requirements.
• Oversee Permit-to-Work processes and ensure appropriate risk assessments and controls are implemented before and during works.
• Partner operational stakeholders to ensure safety considerations are embedded in daily operations and projects.

Support Organisational Priorities

• Collaborate with the Office of Strategy and Governance team to support hospital-wide initiatives and projects.
• Contribute to incident management and investigations when required.
• Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by leadership in support of organisational objectives

• What You Bring

Experience & Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Workplace Safety & Health, with hands-on experience managing organisational safety systems and regulatory compliance.
• Experience partnering diverse stakeholder groups to maintain operational and regulatory safety standards.
• Experience supporting or managing organisational fire safety programmes.
• Strong background in incident investigation, safety reporting, trend analysis and risk mitigation.
• Recognised Bachelor's Degree.

Professional Certifications

• Licensed Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) accredited by MOM.
• Certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) / Senior Fire Safety Manager (SFSM) accredited by SCDF.
• Environmental Control Officer (ECO) licence is advantageous.
