Research Asst
Job Summary
The Research Assistant position is based in the Department of Palliative Medicine. You will work in a team of Research Assistants to assist the Principal Investigators in their clinical research activities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the doctors in preparation of study protocols and other regulatory matters
- Assist in the recruitment and screening of study participants, consent taking, collection of test samples and follow ups
- Request for medical records from Health Information Services and ensure their timely return
- Maintain a log of the cases completed
- Go through the medical records to find relevant data and fill up the study forms
- Assist with data entry and data analysis
- Ensure compliance of study progression in accordance to schedule
- Conduct face-to-face interviews as well as phone interviews with patients and their immediate carers, using questionnaire and scales as directed by the study protocol.
- Coordinate research meeting in relation to the research studies undertaken
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Relevant degree in Sciences.
- Excellent trouble shooting, organization skills, and problem solving skills are also required as well as the ability to work in a team environment. Be team-oriented.
- Highly motivated, reliable and creative. Possess the ability to work independently and effectively with research details. Willing to learn new things.
- Have strong organizational and effective communication skills.
- Self-motivated and pro-active attitude.
- Have a keen interest in research. Relevant experience preferred but not compulsory.
