A.       ABOUT COMPANY

NHG Population Health, part of NHG Health, is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of 1.5 million residents in Central and North Singapore. Our work goes beyond hospitals, into neighbourhoods, schools and workplaces, by bringing care closer to where people live.

Through our three Missions – Population Health, Community Health and Primary Care – we partner hospitals, polyclinics, general practitioners, and community organisations to provide integrated, person-centred care across all life stages.

B.       JOB PURPOSE (ROLE and DEPARTMENT SUMMARY)

The Population Health Management (PHM) Department was established to help NHG Health take a more systematic, data-informed approach to managing the health of the population in Central and North Singapore. By making better use of clinical, operational, and demographic data, PHM aims to guide how resources are deployed to improve health outcomes, equity, and value for residents. PHM works across all levels, from individual residents to healthcare providers and communities, addressing not just clinical and preventive care, but also the social, environmental, and behavioural factors that shape health.

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our PHM Department. The role encompasses three core areas: (i) business intelligence and indicator reporting, (ii) population profiling, and (iii) dashboarding. The successful candidate will produce rigorous analyses to support decision-making by clinical leads, operations managers, and senior leadership, while engaging effectively with stakeholders to ensure outputs are relevant and actionable.

The Data Analyst will have the opportunity to gain cross-functional exposure to how a health system operates, with access to rich and complex datasets. The work is directly tied to decisions that shape patient care, offering a clear and meaningful connection between analysis and impact.

C.       KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Business Intelligence and Indicator Reporting
    • Develop and maintain scripts to calculate performance indicators aligned with internal strategic priorities and external reporting requirements.
    • Track and document the methodology behind each indicator, ensuring that each indicator is calculated to a clearly defined specification, applied accurately and consistently across reporting periods.
    • Support ad hoc data analysis requests as required.

  1. Population Profiling
    • Draw on multiple primary and secondary data sources to develop profiles for Central and North residents covering demographics, social determinants of health, health behaviours, disease burden, utilisation patterns and care pathways to inform service planning and targeted care programmes.
    • Identify trends and emerging shifts in resident needs, helping stakeholders better understand the residents they serve and informing the design of services.

  1. Dashboarding
    • Build, maintain and update dynamic and static dashboards to support visibility of population health metrics.
    • This includes querying databases to identify and extract relevant data, building and maintaining ETL pipelines from existing data marts and new data sources, and preparing data for reporting use.
    • Conduct quality checks on outputs for accuracy, investigate anomalies and unexpected trends, and engage with stakeholders to reconcile data discrepancies and ensure alignment on definitions and figures.
