Physiotherapist (Contract)
KLARIS is a cardiometabolic precision health research centre anchored at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, NHG Health. Operating on a Predict–Monitor–Treat framework, KLARIS integrates genomics, biomarkers and digital health technologies to develop personalised strategies for cardiometabolic disease prevention and management in Singapore’s multi-ethnic population.
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team and lead exercise- and rehabilitation-focused initiatives within our precision cardiometabolic programme. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge translational research at the intersection of physiotherapy, exercise science and digital health.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute precision exercise research studies
- Develop and deliver personalised exercise and physiotherapy intervention protocols for cardiometabolic populations
- Perform comprehensive cardiorespiratory fitness evaluations using metabolic cart
- Conduct functional capacity assessments (6-minute walk test, sit-to-stand, grip strength)
- Monitor participants’ response to interventions and adjust exercise prescriptions to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Analyse functional, physiological and wearable-derived activity data
- Contribute to integration of exercise data with clinical, metabolic and biomarker datasets
- Lead or co-author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at scientific meetings and conferences
- Contribute to grant applications and related research protocols
- Collaborate closely with clinicians, nutritionists, data scientists and external research partners
- Translate research outputs into prototype clinical exercise or rehabilitation pathways and participant education materials
- Contribute to KLARIS strategic planning and programme development

- Comfortable working independently and within multidisciplinary research teams
- Passion for translational research and advancing precision exercise and rehabilitation science
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
- Registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in cardiopulmonary, cardiac rehabilitation
- Experience conducting cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) with metabolic cart
- Demonstrated research experience with publications in peer-reviewed journals (or strong research interest)
- Strong understanding of cardiometabolic disease pathophysiology and exercise responses
