B.       JOB PURPOSE (ROLE and DEPARTMENT SUMMARY)

 

 

You will serve as a trusted finance business partner, working closely with business and operations stakeholders to drive organisational performance through effective financial management. This includes overseeing performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting, revenue and cost analytics, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of NHG Pharmacy and the broader NHG/MOHH ecosystem.

 

As a key member of the team, you will partner the business to identify growth opportunities, champion process and operational improvements, optimise resource allocation, and support the implementation of strategic initiatives that enhance organisational value and sustainability.

 

Leveraging strong commercial acumen and analytical capabilities, you will provide timely financial insights and thought leadership to inform and influence strategic decision-making. You will collaborate closely with finance colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to drive enterprise-wide initiatives and deliver impactful outcomes.

 

This role reports directly to the Head of Finance, NHG Pharmacy.

 

 

C.       KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

(1)     Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting

·       Lead the annual budget exercise and periodic forecasting for Pharmacy business units.

·       Monitor financial performance and provide timely variance analysis, financial insights and recommendations.

·       Support business units in financial planning, resource allocation and decision-making.

·       Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support business initiatives.

 

(2)     Financial Accounting and Reporting

·       Work closely with team members and Shared Services team to ensure timely financial close each month.

·       Ensure timely, accurate and complete financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

·       Review financial results of the business units and provide insights to the leaders on areas of improvement.

·       Review balance sheet reconciliations and work with Shared Services and other team members to ensure all balances are substantiated.

·       Strengthen internal controls and financial governance practices.

 

(3)     Fund Management

·       Manage grants, program funding and designated funds to ensure compliance with funding requirements.

·       Monitor fund utilization and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.

·       Support funding applications, business cases and funding sustainability assessments.

·       Ensure proper governance and accountability over funded programmes and initiatives.

 

(4)     Finance Transformation and Process Improvement

·       Lead finance transformation and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen governance.

·       Support implementation and optimisation of SAP S/4HANA and other digitalisation initiatives.

·       Drive automation and reporting enhancements to improve operational effectiveness.

·       Collaborate with stakeholders to redesign and streamline finance processes.

 

(5)     Business Partnering and Stakeholder Management

·       Serve as a finance business partner to departmental leaders.

·       Provide financial advice and challenge to support sound business decisions.

·       Communicate financial performance, risks and opportunities to stakeholders.

·       Foster effective working relationships across divisions and corporate functions.

 

(6)     Leadership and Team Development

·       Lead and develop finance staff to build capability and strengthen succession planning.

·       Coach team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

·       Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the finance function.

 

 

D.      KEY REQUIREMENTS

 

Qualifications

:

·       Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or a related discipline.

·       Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA Singapore, CPA Australia, ACCA or equivalent) would be an advantage.

 

 

 

Experience

:

·       At least 10 years of relevant finance experience, with managerial and supervisory responsibilities.

·       Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.

·       Experience in financial accounting, financial closing and regulatory/statutory reporting.

·       Experience in fund management, grant administration and financial governance.

·       Experience in leading finance transformation, process improvement or digitalisation initiatives.

·       Experience in business partnering and stakeholder engagement across different functions.

·       Healthcare, public sector or grant-funded environment experience would be an advantage.

·       Experience in SAP/S4HANA implementation, enhancement or optimisation projects would be advantageous.

·       Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP and/or SAP S/4HANA.
