The Digital Innovation Office (DIO) under the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) drives NHG Health’s digital transformation across three key platforms: Digital Hospital, Digital Community, and Health Empowered by AI Launchpad (HEAL).

 

DIO’s mission is to enable transformation and deliver impact by supporting institution-led platforms that advance workforce and care transformation. Through collaborative programmes and partnerships, DIO serves as a catalyst for AI adoption at scale and digital innovation across hospitals and community care.

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Digital Innovation Studio (DIS), the role will manage DIS’s proof-of-concept (POC) platforms consisting of multi-cloud sandbox environments and maintain full technical understanding of their AI and/or IT standards. The candidate will undertake important technical activities together with NHG project teams for the robust prototyping of digital solutions that support CHI’s digital and AI-enabled future.

 

In addition, the candidate will participate in user-engaged product iteration, and technology ecosystem stewardship—working closely with clinicians, operations teams, UX specialists, data scientists, and industry partners.

 

 

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Technical Prototype Engineering

  • Design and support the development of lightweight prototypes, including front-end interfaces, back-end services, and workflow components.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define technical requirements and translate business needs into implementable solution designs, ensuring alignment with security and scalability considerations.
  • Develop technical documentation such as PRDs that include human-in-the-loop (HITL) workflow and guardrail/safety mechanisms, and architecture diagrams.
  • Provide hands-on support for prototype development, testing, and technical troubleshooting.

2. Sandbox Platform Management

  • Maintain DIS multi-cloud sandbox environments across AWS, Azure and/or GCP, including user onboarding, resource provisioning, and access management .
  • Manage and optimise additional enterprise prototyping platforms, ensuring users can effectively build solutions using pre-established services and reusable architecture patterns.
  • Engage industry cloud providers and healthcare IT vendors to stay abreast of emerging platforms, integration approaches, and capabilities, and advise project teams on designing prototypes aligned with target deployment environments.

 

3. Administrative support

  • Support DIS in secretariat or administrative work where needed.
  • Design and deliver hands-on training workshops on modern software development practices and the effective use of cloud-based tools and platforms.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5 years hands-on engineering experience (front-end or back-end in cloud environment).
  • Ability to build and iterate prototypes using both traditional development stacks (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, .NET) and low-code/no-code tools within enterprise security constraints.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred), containerized deployments, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Proficient in drafting PRDs and creating pragmatic lightweight solution architectures to guide technical implementation

 

Desired Skills

  • Passion for healthcare and to create new solutions that can benefit patients or hospital systems.
  • Experience working in healthcare, or with standards such as HL7/FHIR, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, data protection, and safe experimentation in enterprise settings.
  • Experience working with vendors or external tech partners is a bonus.
  • Flexible mindset to adopt new platforms and create new technical frameworks or processes in our evolving environment
