JOB PURPOSE

Assists Pharmacists, Pharmacy Executive and Pharmacy Technicians in the management of the operation of Unit Dose Repackaging Pharmacy (UDP).

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Be familiar with the use of automation machines in the Unit Dose Packaging Pharmacy as part of Inpatient Pharmacy Automation System and be able to perform simple troubleshooting.
  2. Perform medication repackaging and quality checks in accordance with repackaging work instructions and procedures.
  3. Receive, unpack and check stocks against the appropriate documents, to ensure that items supplied are correct and accounted for.
  4. Arrange stocks in FEFO order on medication shelves.
  5. Perform stock receipts and issues/ transfers in the inventory systems.
  6. Assist in replenishment, monitoring and maintaining inventory of stocks and consumables in the Unit Dose Packaging Pharmacy, perform cycle counts and participate in stocktake.
  7. Perform picking of medications for daily top up for the Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs).
  8. Perform checks and cycle counts for the ADCs at clinical areas, eg wards, Operating Theatres etc.
  9. Handle telephone enquiries from hospital staff relating to unit dose repackaging issues.
  10. Liaise with external vendors to coordinate outsourced repackaging schedule.
  11. Maintains the cleanliness of the pharmacy work areas, including the automation machines and prepare work areas for daily operations.
  12. Support the hospital by participating actively in the various activities organized by the hospital. Activities include QC, community projects, staff welfare and recreational activities etc.
  13. Other duties directed by the supervisors.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

 

Education / Training / Experience 

Minimum if GCE “O” or “N” Levels.
