Finance Manager - KLARIS Precision Health Research Clinic
KLARIS is a new cardiometabolic precision health research centre anchored at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), the flagship hospital of the National Healthcare Group. Working within a Predict-Monitor-Treat framework, we translate genomic, biomarker, and digital health data into personalised risk stratification and interventions for Singapore's multi-ethnic population. The centre is funded through philanthropic and competitive grants, and works collaboratively with cross-institutional clinical, bioengineering, and digital health teams to advance the next frontier of translational medicine.
We are recruiting team players to lead the charge in its start-up phase, and looking to bring on talent to set up and manage the centre's budgets, accounts, and financing systems/processes. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable with operating with uncertainty, eager to learn, and keen on making his or her mark in contributing to the advancement of research in the nation and beyond.
What you will do
- Own the full slate of responsibilities for the centre's financial management covering competitive grant portfolios, philanthropic gift stewardship, cost-centre management, pricing, etc.
- Work closely with the centre's directors in building the monitoring systems and dashboards needed to apprise the centre's stakeholders
- Participate in all key spending and investment decisions relating to the centre's expansion
- Manage the financial life cycles of grant funding for the centre through appropriate ring-fencing and donor stewardship
- Manage clinical trial agreement budgets, milestone-based invoicing, and sponsor reconciliations
- Own the annual budget cycle, perform scenario analyses, update monthly financial dashboards, and maintain pricing for KLARIS services
- Drive compliance with TTSH/NHG financial governance requirements, accounting standards, PDPA, and audit requirements
- Support procurement for the centre's material assets
- Provide subject-matter expertise to investigators and cost-centre leads on allowable spend and financial performance
Who we are looking for
- A qualified finance professional with a degree in finance, accounting or a related field

- The candidate should have 5 to 8 years of financial management experience, with at least 3 of those years in a public healthcare institutional setting
- Practical advanced working knowledge of SAP FI/CO, business intelligence (BI) tools, and Microsoft Excel is mandatory, and prior experience handling research accounts is a plus
- An effective communicator with an established track record of stakeholder outreach, who can function well with autonomy and create structure out of ambiguity. Above all, the applicant must align with the vision that we are creating for this venture and be able to articulate how he/she plans to contribute to its success.
What is in it for you
- You get to build something that matters. You will help stand up one of Singapore's most ambitious precision health research clinics from the ground up, and get to imprint your DNA on the financial model of the centre itself, not just its operating features.
- You will gain exposure to and autonomy over a remarkable breadth of financing functions. Grant administration, philanthropy, clinical trial economics, cost-centre strategy, pricing, and procurement oversight are all packaged into the role, affording tremendous potential for learning if those who are willing to adapt quickly.
- You will reap the benefits accruing to intrapreneurship. By working for this venture nested within an established healthcare cluster, you get to enjoy the benefits arising from working for mature organisations (such as access to competitive career development pathways) as well as seed ventures (e.g. high impact/visibility and competitive incentive structures).
- You will be part of a close-knit core management team. You will work alongside the centre's medical director and operations director as part of a small fast-paced leadership team.
