Why This Role Matters
We are seeking an Operations Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership in clinical service planning and operations support across Woodlands Health. You will be part of a high‑performing, engaged operating environment where teams are empowered to deliver safe, efficient, and patient‑centred care. As a senior member of the operations team, you will translate organisational strategy into effective operational execution to meet the hospital’s goals. You will develop and drive initiatives that enhance care quality, service value, and patient experience across the OT, Endoscopy and SOC facilities and Clinical Operations (surgery) services supported by this Enterprise.
This is more than an administrative or coordination role. As a senior operations staff, you will be able to make a direct impact in enabling safe service delivery, clinician readiness, and an excellent patient experience across surgical and procedural care settings.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Clinical & Operational Readiness
- Partner senior clinical leadership and key stakeholders to drive organisation, planning, and project management for new and expanding clinical services.
- Work closely with clinical leads to define service requirements, workload projections, and capacity considerations.
- Support the design and implementation of innovative and integrated care delivery models across settings.
- Lead and coordinate end‑to‑end operational readiness for key facilities including Day Surgery and Major Operating Theatres, Endoscopy Centre, CSSD, and SOC facilities under the Elective Care Enterprise.
- Oversee the review and development of workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) to ensure efficient, safe, and patient‑centred service delivery.
Enable Resource, Equipment & Infrastructure Readiness
- Provide oversight for purchase‑related activities covering medical and non‑medical equipment, including fund management, procurement planning, evaluation, and award processes.
- Lead inventory build‑up and management for equipment, supplies, and consumables, ensuring timely coordination of key deliveries ahead of opening.
- Coordinate setup activities related to facilities, infrastructure, and system readiness across clinical and support services.
Ensure Manpower & Capability Readiness
- Lead manpower readiness planning, including coordination of training, orientation, and operational onboarding activities.
- Work closely with the Operations Leadership to align staffing models and readiness plans with service scope, clinical risk, and projected activity levels.
Leadership, Planning & Governance
- Provide leadership and direction to operations and planning teams supporting facilities and services
- Support divisional annual work planning and budgeting exercises, including preparation of submissions and alignment with clinical priorities.
- Track readiness milestones, identify risks or gaps, and proactively escalate issues to senior leadership.
Stakeholder & External Engagement
- Where required, collaborate with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other government agencies to support planning, licensing, and regulatory approvals.
- Support WH‑wide initiatives and projects as directed by the supervisor or Director, Clinical Operations.
What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Management, or Business Administration is advantageous.
- At least 8–10 years of experience in operations, service planning, or a related leadership role.
- Prior healthcare experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
