Deputy Director, Human Resources (Strategic HR Partnering)
This role offers the opportunity to lead in HR Business Partnering (HRBP) for one of the hospital’s critical workforce groups, while contributing to enterprise-wide HR transformation and development initiatives. You will partner senior clinical and organisational leaders to shape workforce strategies that enable excellent patient care and deliver on key priorities.
Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, you will lead a HRBP team to oversee the full spectrum of HR functions. You will partner closely with the Chief and leadership team to develop people strategies that strengthen workforce capability, leadership pipelines and organisational resilience in an evolving fast-paced healthcare environment.
What you will lead
Strategic HR Partnering
- Work closely with the Chief Nurse and other hospital leaders to translate organisational priorities into nursing workforce strategies that support business outcomes.
- Shape the nursing talent agenda, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning and leadership development to build a strong leadership pipeline.
Workforce Strategy & Transformation
- Shape the nursing talent agenda, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, career management, retention, succession planning and leadership development to build a strong leadership pipeline and achieve nursing excellence.
- Partner senior leaders to drive workforce transformation, change management, organisational excellence initiatives and co-create future job roles in response to changing healthcare needs.
- Provide strategic counsel on complex employee relations, performance management and talent management, balancing organisational priorities with people considerations.

Workforce Analytics & Organisational Insights
- Leverage workforce data and insights to support evidence-based decision making and improve workforce outcomes, engagement and retention
- Champion the use of digital HR solutions and process improvement to enhance employee experience and HR service delivery.
Delivering through people
- Build strong partnerships across HR Centres of Expertise, Shared Services, Finance, Operations and other key stakeholders such as Group HR to deliver integrated HR solutions.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of HR Business Partners to strengthen HR capabilities and foster a high-performing HR function.
Enterprise HR Leadership
- Lead enterprise-wide HR initiatives and transformation efforts that strengthen organisational capability beyond the Nursing group.
- Integrate HR solutions across Centres of Expertise, Shared Services, Finance, Operations and Group HR to deliver business outcomes.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing HRBP team to deliver key results
What you will bring
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience with significant enterprise level exposure.
- Proven track record of leading teams, influencing and managing senior leaders and stakeholders, translating business priorities into people strategies to achieve business outcomes.
- Systems thinking with demonstrated success in workforce planning, organisational development, talent management, and change management
- Ability to lead in complexity and ambiguity, influence across levels and align diverse stakeholders
- Advanced data and analytics fluency (query, interpret, and tell the story), including AI literacy to shape practical use cases and adoption guardrails.
