Deputy Director
Deputy Director (Group Clinical Education), NHG Health
The Deputy Director supports the senior management of Group Clinical Education in setting the strategic vision and direction for education operations and development across NHG. He/she works closely with the NHG Designated Institutional Official, Cluster Education Director, Group Chief Clinical Education Officer, and Senior Director (Group Clinical Education) to maintain robust administrative systems overseeing all clinical training programmes, ensuring that residents and students train in a conducive environment with appropriate opportunities to grow as clinical experts and as persons.
As a key member of the Group Clinical Education administrative leadership, the Deputy Director plays an active role in designing, implementing, and continuously improving NHG's education delivery system, and in developing the capabilities of clinical teachers, educators, and the administrative team.
Clinical Education Operations
The Deputy Director provides guidance to the administrative team across programme management, accreditation, funding, and management reporting. He/she oversees the teams responsible for Residency, Pre-Professional Education, and TTSH PGY1 programmes, ensuring they are well-administered and aligned with NHG's education standards and regulatory requirements. Beyond day-to-day oversight, the Deputy Director drives continuous improvement across these programmes and is committed to building the capabilities of both clinical educators and the administrative team in support of NHG's broader education mission.
Shared Functions Oversight
The Deputy Director provides oversight and coordination across the shared functions teams within Group Clinical Education, working with respective team leads to ensure alignment with departmental priorities, support resource planning, and facilitate cross-team collaboration.
Within this remit, the Deputy Director takes direct leadership of the Faculty Management & Recognition team, with a focus on developing and sustaining a strong faculty management and recognition ecosystem within NHG. He/she oversees faculty appointments, evaluations, recognition initiatives, and teaching awards, and supports faculty growth through development opportunities such as conference sponsorship and postgraduate studies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training/Experience
a. Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience
b. Prior work experience in the education administration or healthcare industry is an advantage
c. Minimum 8 years of supervisory experience
d. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential
e. Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English
