Deputy Director
This is a high-impact role at the heart of NHG's governance agenda. You'll own the frameworks, systems, and relationships that keep NHG aligned with MOH regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies across the cluster. You'll provide meaningful assurance to senior leadership and Board committees, and play a decisive role in identifying and mitigating compliance risks before they become problems.
What You'll Do
Drive Compliance Frameworks That Actually Work
You won't just maintain compliance frameworks — you'll make sure they're fit for purpose, regularly stress-tested, and effectively implemented across NHG institutions. Your benchmark for success is simple: no major compliance gaps, no regulatory surprises.
Run a Tight Monitoring Programme
You'll plan and execute compliance monitoring activities with discipline, ensuring cycles are completed on schedule and that findings don't sit in inboxes. Follow-up actions get closed, not forgotten.
Be the Trusted Voice in the Room
From Board committee papers to advisory requests from the ground, you'll be known for producing reports that are clear, well-reasoned, and genuinely useful — not just technically complete. Stakeholders will come to you because they know they'll get a straight, well-considered answer quickly.
Own the Obligations Register and Policy Landscape
You'll keep NHG's obligations register accurate and current, and ensure the policy repository is never stale. Review cycles will be adhered to, and gaps will be caught before they become liabilities.
Make Declarations and Training Stick
COI, Gifts & Hospitality, compliance training — you'll drive completion rates that reflect a culture of accountability, not just box-ticking. You'll work across institutions to make sure participation is broad, timely, and meaningful.
Keep Governance Committees Running Smoothly
Quality papers, accurate minutes, action items that actually get closed — you'll bring the rigour and follow-through that good governance depends on.
Lead Controls Self-Assessment Across the Cluster
You'll oversee CSA cycles across NHG institutions, ensuring submissions are timely and complete, and that the controls framework is well-documented and continuously improved.
Track, Escalate, and Close
Whether it's audit issues, remediation actions, or compliance cases, you'll maintain sharp oversight — tracking progress, escalating where needed, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Your dashboards will be live, accurate, and trusted.
Turn Data into Insight
You'll go beyond reporting numbers — your trend analyses will surface patterns, flag emerging risks, and inform smarter decisions at the leadership level.
Who You Are
You have solid experience in compliance, risk, internal audit, or governance — ideally in healthcare or the public sector — and you know how to operate in a complex, multi-institutional environment. You're as comfortable presenting to a Board committee as you are rolling up your sleeves to fix a process. You write well, think clearly, and hold yourself to a high standard. Most importantly, you understand that compliance done well isn't about restriction — it's about building the trust that lets an organisation like NHG do its best work.
