Tan Tock Seng Hospital is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Operations (Eye) department as Assistant Director, Operations. Reporting to the Director, Operations (Eye), you will play a pivotal role in shaping service delivery, driving operational excellence, and advancing patient-centred care within one of Singapore's leading healthcare institutions.

What You Will Do

As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with clinical and operational leaders to translate strategy into action, driving initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, staff experience, and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and overseeing the day-to-day operational management of the Eye Clinics to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.
  • Partnering clinical leaders to conceptualise and implement patient-centric initiatives that improve care experience and outcomes.
  • Driving strategic projects and service transformation efforts aligned with TTSH's and NHG Health's organisational priorities.
  • Developing business cases and innovative care models that support sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
  • Engaging internal and external stakeholders to review and strengthen departmental strategies, workplans, and performance outcomes.

Driving Value Through Operational Excellence

You will champion initiatives to:

  • Optimise resource utilisation and strengthen operational efficiency.
  • Enhance financial stewardship and support sustainable service delivery through close partnership with Finance.
  • Strengthen corporate governance and risk management practices.
  • Improve workflows and processes to enhance staff productivity and experience.
  • Advance patient safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Foster a strong service culture and elevate patient satisfaction.
  • Benchmark performance against industry best practices and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Strategic Leadership and Performance Management

You will play an instrumental role in aligning departmental priorities with NHG Health's and TTSH's strategic direction by:

  • Supporting the development and execution of departmental business plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitoring and driving key performance indicators, value measures, and leading indicators across assigned areas.
  • Communicating performance insights and translating data into actionable improvement opportunities.
  • Linking departmental outcomes to TTSH's broader value-based care journey and organisational objectives.
  • Identifying emerging challenges and opportunities, and proactively shaping solutions that enhance patient and organisational value.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Preferably Bachelor’s Degree and above.
    • Preferably at least 8 years of relevant experience, of which at least 5 years involve management experience (experience in a large organisation setting will be advantageous).
    • Preferably experienced in healthcare management, especially in the domain of healthcare operations.
    • Experience in leading a team.
    • Driven, passionate and service-oriented.
    • Possess good organizational and coordination skills, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills.
