Job Description:

The Assistant Director will provide senior strategic leadership in driving hospital-wide care transformation, translating high-level objectives into concrete operational plans while ensuring seamless integration with day-to-day operations. The role encompasses management oversight of ground operations and multidisciplinary teams, strategic manpower deployment, and the use of advanced operational analytics to support evidence-based decision-making, with the aim of delivering safe, high-quality patient care in alignment with the Clinical, Manpower and Campus Masterplans.

Job Responsibilities:

Clinical Operations Leadership

• Drive hospital-wide care transformation in support of the Clinical, Manpower and Campus Masterplans, translating high-level strategic objectives into concrete operational plans and measurable outcomes.
• Provide senior strategic leadership across all operational domains, ensuring seamless integration of transformation initiatives with day-to-day hospital operations and long-term care model redesign.
• Lead and exercise management oversight over ground operations and administrative functions, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to strategise, implement, and continuously improve clinical services that support safe and high-quality patient care.
• Serve as the strategic bridge between senior operational and clinical leadership, ensuring that transformation initiatives are clinically sound, operationally feasible, and financially sustainable.
• Oversee strategic manpower deployment and resource forecasting, ensuring optimal clinical coverage, workforce resilience, and robust capacity planning across the hospital.
• Champion the use of advanced operational analytics, including predictive modelling and data visualisation, to generate actionable insights that support evidence-based decision-making at the senior management level.
• Lead periodic reviews of existing policies, procedures, and workflows to identify opportunities for service delivery improvement, driving efficiency gains and quality enhancements in close collaboration with key management members and clinical leaders
• Align operational priorities with organisational goals by fostering strong partnerships across clinical, administrative, and corporate functions to deliver shared strategic objectives

GENERAL 

• Representing IMH in NHG-level workgroups

Requirements:

Competency

1. Strategic and analytical thinking — ability to interpret complex operational data, oversee predictive modelling, and translate insights into strategic recommendations for senior management.
2. Change management — experience leading organisational or care transformation initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and managing resistance to change.
3. Stakeholder management — ability to engage, influence, and align diverse stakeholders across clinical, operational, and corporate functions at a senior level.
4. Financial acumen — familiarity with budget management, resource optimisation, and financial sustainability considerations in a healthcare setting.
5. Manpower and workforce planning — experience in manpower deployment, capacity planning, and workforce forecasting.
6. Leadership and people development — demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire teams, consistent with the learning culture and supervisory responsibilities described.

Educational and Professional Requirements

1. Degree in Business, Engineering or Healthcare.  At least 10 years of relevant working experience, including supervisory role.
2. Experience in healthcare management, administrative and operational functions.
