Job Description
This position is responsible for leading the negotiation and management of research-related agreements across NHG's research portfolio. The role serves as a key liaison between institution research offices, clinical research teams, and external agencies, driving institutional excellence in contract management whilst ensuring compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own the end-to-end review, negotiation, and execution of industry partnership and research-related agreements, with accountability for outcomes and quality
- Support and front national research initiatives and programmes, serving as NHG's representative in cross-agency and inter-institutional platforms relating to research agreements and translational research
- Manage NHG's participation in national-level workgroups and committees, ensuring institutional positions are well-represented and aligned with broader healthcare research priorities
- Develop and implement standardised templates, frameworks, and governance processes to enable consistent and efficient multi-institution contract negotiations
- Drive strategic initiatives to optimise agreement turnaround times, setting and maintaining institutional KPIs in alignment with organisational goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, serving as a trusted subject matter expert on research agreements
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SOPs, policies, and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences or related disciplines
- Demonstrated experience in research contracts management, with a track record of leading negotiations and managing complex agreements
- Good knowledge of ICH-GCP, local and international regulatory requirements governing clinical research
- Sound understanding of clinical research operations and/or clinical trial management
- Familiarity with the national research funding landscape and grant schemes, with prior exposure to national research initiatives or inter-agency collaboration being an advantage
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels including senior leadership
- Able to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
