Assistant Manager (Ops Surgery)

JOB SUMMARY

 

You will support the planning, implementation and operations of the Medical 3D Printing (Medical 3DP) Centre, while providing project management and operational oversight for broader clinical services.   You will work closely with clinical leaders, corporate departments, partner institutions and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective care and service delivery models.  This includes coordinating operational processes, system integration, financial and utilization monitoring, procurement and infrastructure readiness as well as driving workflow improvements, service expansion and change management to enhance patient experience, operational efficiency and financial sustainability .

 

 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Operations and Programme Management

 

  • Support the operational planning and implementation of the Medical 3DP Centre’s services and workflows.
  • Coordinate and streamline operational processes across partnering institutions under the hub-and-spoke model.
  • Support the integration of operational workflows with NGEMR (EPIC) and other institutional systems.
  • Manage and support departmental projects, tracking progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring timely, on-budget delivery of objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and support analysis and reporting to inform decision-making processes.
  • Monitor operational issues, identify process gaps, and coordinate implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Support operational readiness and change management initiatives for new services and workflows
  • Coordinate meetings, reporting requirements and programme documentation. 

 

 

  1. Financial and Administrative Management
    • Support preparation and monitoring of operational budgets, including manpower, equipment, consummables and infrastructure-related expenditure.
    • Work with Finance on the pricing model, utilization tracking and sustainability planning.
    • Monitor operational expenditure, service utilization and cost recovery indicators.   .

 

  1. Procurement and Infrastructure Coordination
  • Manage procurement projects end-to-end, including coordinating across multiple stakeholders to gather required information, and develop justifications to secure funding approval.
  • Coordinate procurement processes for equipment, systems, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Liaise with Procurement, Facilities Management, and vendors on infrastructure setup and implementation timelines.
  • Support infrastructure readiness activities, including clean room setup and operational certification processes.

 

  1. Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Coordination

 

  • Coordinate with internal departments including IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, and Facilities to support operational needs of the Centre.
  • Collaborate across clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver patient-centric initiatives, operational strategies and sustainable care models.
  • Support coordination with partnering hospitals and external stakeholders on operational matters relating to service implementation.
  • Assist the Medical 3DP Clinical Director in coordinating service agreements, operational workflows, and implementation plans with external partners.

 

 

  1. Service Expansion and Operational Support
  • Support operational implementation of new services and programme expansion initiatives.
  • Facilitate coordination activities required for scaling the Centre’s services across institutions.
  • Develop and maintain management reports and documentation that provide insights into operational performance, project progress, and resource utilization to support strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to process improvements and maintain service quality standards to drive excellence in patient care.

 

  1. Other Duties
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer and/or Clinical Director (Medical 3DP).

 

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Good Bachelor's degree in any discipline, with at least one year of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare administration.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, procurement, and operational reporting processes and prior experience supporting service implementation, workflow optimisation, infrastructure setup, system implementation, or operational readiness initiative is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English, with effective interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong numerical proficiency and ability to translate data into insights.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Self-motivated, meticulous, and committed to seeing initiatives through from planning to execution.

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
